Harrison Park Family Campground 

Enjoy camping under the stars at one of the many fully-serviced campsites at the Harrison Park Family Campground in Owen Sound.  The campground offers campsites that cater to tenting, trailering and RV’s.  This family-oriented campground is situated in historic Harrison Park, with some campsites bordering the flowing waters of the Sydenham River or Weavers’ Creek.  The campground offers many amenities that appeal to those looking to swim in a heated outdoor pool, have a meal at a full-service restaurant, explore two playgrounds, play tennis/pickleball on one of two lit courts and many other features all within a few minutes walk.  The Harrison Park Campground has direct access to the Bruce Trail, which forms a ribbon around the city through forests and parkland, linking waterfalls and rivers along the Niagara Escarpment.

For those looking for a unique campground experience, check out the Harrison Park Cabin; a converted heritage building that offers two private bedrooms with double beds and a fully outfitted kitchen and dining area.   

Kelso Beach Family Campground 

Campers also have access to the Kelso Beach Campground located along the Eddie Sargent Parkway across from Kelso Beach at Nawash Park.  The Kelso Beach Campground is only made available to campers during the Summerfolk Festival and late summer salmon derbies.  This campground offers a limited number of un-serviced campsites, one washroom/shower facility and a central picnic area with an outdoor fire pit. 

  • The Harrison Park Family Campground is situated in Harrison Park and offers access to an impressive array of additional park features including: 

    • A variety of trails that extend throughout the park and link to the broader trail networks (such as the Bruce Trail); 
    • Access to the Harrison Park Swimming Pool and Change House during public swim times in June, July and August.  The outdoor heated pool is nestled under the trees near Weavers’ Creek and is staffed by lifeguards from the YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce; 
    • Two (2) playgrounds that offer a variety of recreational play opportunities and one (1) playground within the campground; 
    • Lit tennis/pickle ball courts; 
    • A hard surfaced area with two basketball nets; 
    • A number of commemorative and art installations throughout the park including the Black History Cairn; 
    • An 18-hole minigolf course and a canoe/paddleboat rental service that is available for a fee at the Putt’n Paddle kiosk; and 
    • Many more experiences housed within the expansive 40 hectare Harrison Park and all just a short walk from your camp site.

The 2025 camping season is fast approaching! Campground sites can soon be booked on a first-come, first-served basis.  The 2025 Harrison Park Family Campground season extends from Thursday, May 15, 2025 at 4:00pm (EST) to Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 11:00am (EST) and offers the following key campground amenities.    

  • A total of 97 campsites that can support a tent, trailer or RV.  If you will be bringing a trailer or RV, please review the maximum length of trailer/RV that can be placed on each campsite (the maximum length of trailer/RV for each campsite is outlined). 
  • Each campsite comes with water and hydro services.  The hydro services includes two (2) 15 amp outlets and either a 30 amp or 50 amp hydro service. 
  • There are three (3) comfort stations with two (2) featuring shower facilities. 
  • A coin operated laundromat facility. 
  • Firewood and ice can be purchased at the campground Registration Booth. Absolutely no outside firewood will be permitted within the campground. 
  • Complimentary access to the outdoor Harrison Park Pool is provided with your campsite booking for the duration of your stay. 
  • A trailer/RV waste water dump station is available at the campground and the cost is included for registered campers.

Please be aware of the following information to assist you in deciding if Harrison Park Family Campground meets your expectations and camping needs: 

Confirm Maximum Trailer/RV Size for Campground Site - Campers that will be arriving with a trailer or RV must verify and ensure that your trailer/RV does not exceed the maximum size that can be accommodated on each campground site.  Information on each campground site and the maximum length of trailer/RV that it can accommodate is available prior to confirming your booking. 

Check-in and Check-Out Times – All campground campers must register at the Harrison Park Registration Booth.  Check-in time is no earlier than 4:00pm (EST) and no later than 8:00pm (EST).  Campers must check-out no later than 11:00am (EST). 

Firewood and Ice – Firewood and ice can be purchased at the Harrison Park Campground Registration Booth.  Please note that no outside firewood is permitted within the campground.

Open Today!!!!!  2025 Registration commences for the Harrison Park Family Campground Cabin on Monday, February 3, 2025 at 9:00 am (EST) 

The City of Owen Sound is excited to offer a premium camping experience at the Harrison Park Family Campground. The heritage building formerly known as the “Kitchen” has been converted to a two-bedroom cottage complete with a fully equipped kitchen and dining area.  The 2025 Harrison Park Family Campground Cabin season extends from Thursday, May 15, 2025 at 4:00pm (EST) to Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 11:00am (EST).  The Harrison Park Campground Cabin is illustrated in the below images and offers the following amenities:   

  • Two bedrooms with double beds and a double pull-out sofa bed in the common area.  (Renters are responsible for bringing their own linen/sleeping bag & pillows)
  • The cabin is equipped with modern conveniences that includes: electricity, a microwave, a coffeemaker, a fridge, a sink, a cooktop range, and a dinning table with six chairs.  
  • The kitchen comes with all necessary cutlery, dishes, mixing bowls, frying pans, cups, mugs and other miscellaneous kitchen utensils.  
  • A charcoal BBQ is supplied adjacent to the cabin. (charcoal not supplied) 
  • The cabin comes with a dedicated firepit and picnic table. 
  • There is no washroom in the cabin.  Washrooms are available in the campground and are located a stones-throw from the cabin.

Booking Information 

Please be aware of the following information to assist you in deciding if Harrison Park Family Campground and Cabin meets your expectations and camping needs: 

Length of Stay - Reservations require a minimum three-night stay and cannot exceed a maximum stay beyond fourteen consecutive nights.  

Weekly Bookings – Week-long cabin stays commence on a Sunday and extend to the next Saturday.   

Check-in and Check-Out Times – All campground campers must register at the Harrison Park Registration Booth.  Check-in time is no earlier than 4:00pm (EST) and no later than 8:00pm (EST).  Campers must check-out no later than 11:00am (EST). 

Damage Deposit – A $250 damage deposit is required upon arrival and must be placed on reservation holders credit card.

2025 Registration commences for the Kelso Beach Family Campground on Friday April 25, 2025 at 9:00am EST 

The Kelso Beach Campground, located at 200 18th Street West, Owen Sound Ontario, N4K 2A7 will be open on a limited basis in 2025.  The campground will offer un-serviced campsites on a first-come, first-served basis and will be closed except during the following dates:  

  1. Summerfolk Music and Craft Festival – camping will be available from Monday, August 11, 2025 at 4:00pm (EST) to Monday, August 18, 2025 at 11:00am (EST). 
  2. Fishing Derbies – camping will be available from Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at 4:00pm (EST) to Monday, September 1, 2025 at 11:00am (EST) 

The Kelso Beach Campground will offer the following campground amenities on the above referenced dates:     

  • A limited number of un-serviced campground sites under the shade of mature pine trees; 
  • Campground is suitable for tents, small trailers or RVs and cannot accommodate oversized trailers/RV’s; 
  • One (1) centrally located comfort station with shower facilities; 
  • One (1) central fire pit with communal picnic table area; 
  • Located immediately across the street from Kelso Beach at Nawash Park where you will find other park features such as: 
  • a sand beach along the shores of Georgian Bay; 
  • accessible trails; 
  • Good Cheer splash pad; 
  • Good Cheer accessible washroom and change room; 
  • Passive recreational fields (one (1) soccer field and one (1) ball diamond)
  • Gitche Namewikwe'dong Reconciliation Garden; and 
  • Several buildings including a pavilion used as a primary venue for events like the Summerfolk Music & Crafts Festival.

Refund requests must be made via the Request for Refund Form that is accessible by clicking on the box below.   The form must be completed and submitted by the party named on the rental booking contract.  The completed Refund Request Form must be delivered using either one of the following two methods: 

  1. Email to hregistration@owensound.ca, or 
  2. Submitted in person to the Harrison Park Campground Registration Booth located at 75 2nd Avenue East, Owen Sound, Ontario, N4K 2E5 between 11:00am (EST) and 8:00 pm (EST). 

Please note that any cancellation of a confirmed reservation will be assessed subject to the following:

  • Poor weather conditions 
  • Insect populations 
  • Illness or poor health 
  • Failure to select an appropriate campsite that can accommodate your trailer/RV.  Each campsite identifies a recommended maximum size of trailer/RV that can be accommodated on each campsite. Look for the recommended trailer/RV size under “Amenities” when you are selecting your campsite when booking.  No refunds will be provided if you arrive and your trailer/RV does not fit the campsite.
